what is climate change

The earth is currently facing an extremely large threat called climate change. Climate change is currently occurring all around the globe and concerns all of us. Climate change is an unusual change of weather in a certain place, climate change is also changing the earths over all temperature and scientist have found that the earth is getting hotter and that the temperature of the earth has gone up by 0.74 degrees Celsius this might seem like a small amount but this has caused some drastic changes like the sea levels to rise, snow and ice to melt, fires and droughts, increased rainfall and floods, hotter weather and more intense weather. These are evident in the world we live in like for example since 1993 on average the sea has risen 3.18 mm year.

what is causeing climate change

The earth is located in what some people call the goldilocks zone, this means that the conditions on earth are just right for life, the earth's not too hot nor too cold for human life. To keep this balance the earth has a layer of greenhouse gases that act like a blanket that maintains the conditions on earth, keep the earth warm and shields it from the cold of space, this is also referred to as the greenhouse effect.

but lately because of burning fossil fuels ,coal and natural gases there's an increased amount of carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas) in the atmosphere. This increased amount of carbon dioxide leads to the enhanced greenhouse effect, which is when the layer surrounding the earth gets thicker this then leads to the earth warming up and this is what causes climate change.

why is recycling importnat

research has shown that recycling we can help us to fight climate change or at most can slow down climate change. When we recycle we can help to reduce the amount of raw materials being extracted from the earth and this is important because industries like mining and deforestation largely contribute to pollution and the enhanced greenhouse effect.so when you recycle it reduces the amount of the fossil fuels that need to burned for manufacturing products and this is why its important to recycle.
